A long time ago I thought I would become a chemist! I have been in the world of science throughout my years. I think writing and particularly haiku and its forms are like chemistry. They are a distillate of a larger mass and require some technique and work to arrive there. I am a chemist/poet.

I remember that smell in the desert! I’m not nearly so excited about our rain. This is the second day of unrelenting cold rain just on the verge of freezing. Yesterday the line was near Dover–from there north it was freezing rain, here just nasty. Even orchestra was cancelled last night because of it.
